Probolinggo is bordered on:

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
Mount Bromo in Indonesia call it Gunung Bromo is a popular tourist destination in East Java. Mount Bromo is the only active crater in a caldera which contains seven eruptive centres. The volcano is noted for its spectacular sunrises, and majestic views across to Semeru volcano in the south.
Mount Bromo (reach a height of 2,392 m from sea level) is an active volcano and part of the Bromo – Tengger – Semeru National Park. Mount Bromo isn't the highest mountain in Java Island that honor goes to nearby Mount Semeru at 3,676 m from sea level, but it's probably the most famous one. Bromo is in fact only one of many peaks inside the massive Tengger Caldera, but it's easily recognized as the entire top has been blown off and the crater inside constantly belches white sulphurous smoke. The inside of the caldera, apply dubbed the Sea of Sand is coated with fine volcanic sand and the overall effect is unsettlingly unearthly, especially when compared to the lush green valleys all around the caldera. When timing any activities in the area, bear in mind that sunset is soon after 5 PM and sunrise is correspondingly early at around 5:30 AM. This means you'll usually need to get up by 3:30 AM or so to get there in time for dawn.
There are paople that live around National Park call it Tenggerese people, they are indigenous to the area and adhere to ancient Hindu beliefs. According to legend, the ancestors of the tribe were members of the Majapahit Kingdom who went into exile. Strangely, despite being aware of the potential dangers of Mount Bromo, the local people seem unafraid. The same goes for the visitors who come to the Park in great numbers, particularly around the time of the annual ceremony of Kasada. The ceremony held on every year in December or January at the full moon. Through this ceremony, the Tenggerese invoke the blessings of the deities to ensure an abundant harvest, to be spared from calamity and to be cured of various diseases. To earn such blessings, they climb down the sides of the crater to catch the offerings thrown into the crater by other members of the community above. The scramble for possession of the 'sacrifices' is at once a gripping, but terrifying sight: it is not uncommon for some of the participants to tumble down to the crater's floor.
Mount Argopuro/Rengganis Peak.
Geographically, Mount Argopuro including Highlands Nature Reserve covering 15,000 ha Iyang, located in the north and southwest of Jember Bondowoso, East Java. In terms of administrative, divided into three districts, namely Probolinggo, Jember, and Situbondo. In addition to presenting a variety of stories, hiking terrain Argopuro very unique. Madakaripura is a sacred visiting area comprising lines of waterfalls where its center reaches a height of 200 meters from the bottom. Gili Ketapang Island.
Gili Ketapang is an island that is North Sea of Probolinggo. It has beautiful scenery and there are many sands in the east and south of this, unpolluted and bluish. There are many kinds of colorful corals. It is about 5 miles from Ujung Tembaga port and takes 30 minutes by boat. The population is 7.600, the most of them are Madurese and almost 90% are fishermen.Beside its scenery, there is also “Goa Kucing”. According to historical, this is the rest place of Syech Ishaq, a person who spread Islam from Blambangan, Banyuwangi. At that time, there are thousands cats, but finally the cats are gone everywhere. Up to know, on Friday “Legi”, the sound of those cats is heard from the dark cave and it will lose when we are trying to find it.
The other unique of this island is people believe that this island have a mysterious power, which can move to the middle of sea. According to them, when Semeru Mountain had exploded, there was an earthquake and the land of Ketapang village had separated to middle of sea about 5 miles from Probolinggo. Because of that, people call this island “Gili Ketapang”. Gili comes from Madura language, which means, “Flow” and “Ketapang” is the name of the village.
Lake Ronggojalu.
Instead of being used for fresh water facilities for Probolinggo people, this lake also use for industrial needs. Lake Ronggojalu is a tourism object, which believe having any spiritual thing and having its particular use.Lake Ronggojalu located at Tegalsiwalan district it is about 15 km of Probolinggo city.
Lake Ranu Agung.
The other nature richness of Probolinggo is Lake Ranu Agung, which is beautiful natural lake, having fresh water and fresh environment. The other side, Ranu Agung have beautiful steep bank, which rich of colors inside that make this area more beautiful. It is located in Tiris district, about 55 km of Probolinggo city.Lake Ranu Segaran and Hot Spring.
This natural lake gives its beautiful impressions for the visitors. The clean and fresh lake with beautiful panorama are ideal for canoeing, fishing, etc. This lake is become one of Probolingo main tourism. About 100 meters of Lake Ranu Segaran location, there is a natural hot spring, which surrounded by natural scenery and fresh air.Jabung Temple.
Jabung temple has ancient and historical heritages in Probolinggo. Located in Jabung village, in Paiton district. Jabung temple was made by red stone with 13,11 length, 9,58 m, 15,58 m height. There are also some relief panels, which its story is not surely known yet. The relief panels represent daily activities such as: a hermit wearing “surban” stands opposite to his student, Two men who are near well, a lunar shape panel ground like medallion, some lions sit opposite.Kedaton Temple.
Kedaton Temple is one of the unique temples that made of Andesit stone. This temple built about the end of XIV century is unique temple with beautiful scenery around. It is located in 60 km to south of Probolinggo at Argopuro valley.The summary of Garudeya story has carved on its relief. The location of this Hindu building is in Lawang Kedaton sub-village, Andungbiru village, Tiris district, Probolinggo regency. The temple sized 6 meters square and has year signed on its stair, 1292 saka (1370 A.D). Kedaton temple has 33 relief on the temple's feet. Beside Garudeya story, some relief are told about legend story, such as; Arjunawiwaha and Bhomakwya.
Kiprah Glipang Dance.
Kiprah Glipang dance which is one of Probolinggo traditional dance and has been develop among the people’s life. This dance is conducted by the traditional music called “Glipang”. This dance reflected how strong and firm the men who join and become the soldier. Kiprah Glipang popularly came from Pendil – Banyuanyar village, that’s why people say that Pendil – Banyuanyar is the place of Kiprah Glipang from. In fact, Pendil village in Banyuanyar district is publishing this traditional dance to all over Probolinggo area.Ngiring Kucing Ceremony.
Ngiring kucing ceremony is one of Indonesia traditional ceremony that comes from Probolinggo regency. It is held in Wonokerso village, Sumber district, Probolinggo regency, East java. The local inhabitant in that area is Tengger Javanese ethnicity who stay around Mount Bromo. Ngiring kucing is one of the traditional dance that always be celebrate till this period.Kasada Ceremony Mount Bromo.
On the fourteenth day of the Month Kasada (local calendar), the inhabitants of Tengger Mountain range gather at the rim of Mount Bromo's active crater to present annual offerings of rice, fruit, vegetables, flowers, live stock and other local produce to the God of the Mountain. As adherents of religion combining elements of Hinduism and Mahayana Buddhism the Tenggerese ask for blessing from the supreme God Hyang Widi Wasa.The Kasada ceremony opens with the inauguration of the honored members of Tenggerese society. Followed by a classical ballet performance which recounts the legend of Roro Anteng and Joko Seger at the open theatre in the village of Ngadisari. At midnight is the inauguration of new priest at the 'Poten' on the sand sea of Mount Bromo.
The Kasada Traditional Ceremony always held in every year about September or in the full moon night, 14th day of the month kasada (local calendar) and the annual ritual held by the Tenggerese community at Ngadisari Village, Probolinggo Regency.

Mask Puppet (Wayang Topeng).
Mask puppet is other form of Puppet shows in East Java. Mask puppet is growing in Malang, Probolinggo, Situbondo and Sumenep. The show is like a human puppet, which are the artist played by the human players use mask.
